Sharing a recent Disney Vacation from a Navigation Travel client
Our recent family trip to Walt Disney World created memories that will last a lifetime. From the moment we stepped into Magic Kingdom, the excitement was palpable, especially for the kids. Every corner of the park offered new adventures, thrilling rides, and magical moments. Our stay at the Polynesian Resort added a special touch of relaxation and island charm that perfectly complemented the busy days at the park. Here’s a detailed look at our experience, the fun the kids had, and why the Polynesian Resort made our trip even more unforgettable.

Exploring Magic Kingdom: A World of Fun for Kids
Magic Kingdom is a place where imagination comes alive, and our kids were eager to dive into every attraction. The park is divided into several themed lands, each offering unique experiences.
Fantasyland Adventures
Fantasyland was a favorite spot for our younger children. They loved riding “It’s a Small World”, where colorful dolls from around the world sang and danced. The gentle boat ride was perfect for little ones and gave us a chance to relax while enjoying the vibrant scenes.
The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was a thrilling ride that combined a roller coaster with storytelling. Our older kids were thrilled by the twists and turns, and the animatronics of the dwarfs added a magical touch.
Adventureland Excitement
In Adventureland, the kids were fascinated by the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The dark, immersive setting and the pirate animatronics sparked their imaginations. They also enjoyed the Jungle Cruise, where the guide’s witty jokes kept everyone laughing as we floated past exotic animals and jungle scenes.
Tomorrowland Thrills
Tomorrowland offered a glimpse into the future with exciting rides like Space Mountain. Our kids, especially the older ones, loved the high-speed roller coaster in the dark. The interactive queue and space-themed decor built anticipation before the ride even started.
We also tried Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, a fun shooting game where the whole family competed to get the highest score. It was a great way to combine fun and friendly competition.
Meeting Beloved Characters
One of the highlights for our children was meeting Disney characters. They were thrilled to hug Mickey Mouse, get autographs from princesses like Cinderella and Belle, and take photos with Goofy and Donald Duck. These moments brought pure joy and made the magic feel real.
Dining and Entertainment at Magic Kingdom
The park offers a variety of dining options that cater to families. We enjoyed a character breakfast at The Crystal Palace, where Winnie the Pooh and friends visited our table. We all loved the buffet with plenty of kid-friendly choices.
In the evening, the Happily Ever After fireworks show was breathtaking. The combination of fireworks, projections on Cinderella Castle, and music created a magical atmosphere that left us all in awe.

Our Stay at the Polynesian Resort: Island Comfort and Convenience
After busy days at Magic Kingdom, the Polynesian Resort was a peaceful retreat. The resort’s South Pacific theme made us feel like we were on a tropical island getaway.
Comfortable and Spacious Rooms
Our Deluxe Studio room was spacious and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the lush gardens. The décor featured warm wood tones and island-inspired accents, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The kids enjoyed the themed bedding and the little touches that made the stay special.
Resort Amenities for Families
The Polynesian Resort offers many amenities that families appreciate:
Volcano Pool with a waterslide that the kids used multiple times
Beach area on the Seven Seas Lagoon, perfect for watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks from a distance
Children’s activity center with crafts and games
Multiple dining options, including the popular ‘Ohana restaurant, where we enjoyed a delicious family-style meal with Polynesian flavors. Don't miss Kona Cafe for Tonga Toast!
Easy Access to Magic Kingdom
One of the biggest advantages was the resort’s location. A short monorail ride took us directly to Magic Kingdom, making it easy to return for breaks or to avoid long waits at the end of the day. This convenience was especially helpful with young children who needed rest.
Tips for Families Planning a Disney Trip
Based on our experience, here are some practical tips for families visiting Magic Kingdom and staying at the Polynesian Resort:
Arrive early to enjoy popular rides with shorter lines
Use the Disney Genie+ service to reserve access to favorite attractions and save time
Plan character meet-and-greets ahead of time to avoid long waits
Take advantage of the resort’s pool and activities for downtime between park visits
Pack comfortable shoes and sunscreen for long days outdoors
Book dining reservations early, especially for character meals and popular restaurants

Creating Lasting Memories
Our trip to Walt Disney World was more than just visiting a theme park. It was about sharing moments of joy, wonder, and togetherness. The kids’ laughter on rides, their excitement meeting characters, and the peaceful evenings at the Polynesian Resort combined to create a truly special family adventure.
